Understanding that the transition to civilian life can be a "crazy maze," especially when battling the invisible wounds of service, we offer P.T.S.D Awareness Cards as a vital tool for veterans.

How the P.T.S.D Awareness Card Works

These cards are designed for those moments when the world becomes too loud or a trigger causes a "shutdown." They provide a voice when you may not have one.

  • Personalization: Each card features space for your name and, most importantly, your "Safe Person" the specific individual you trust to ground you and help navigate an episode.

  • Effective Communication: If you become unable to speak or interact during a trigger, the card informs bystanders or emergency services of your condition.

  • Correct Support: It ensures that those around you provide the right kind of help such as giving you space or contacting your safe person rather than unintentionally escalating the situation.

Why It Matters

In the heat of a P.T.S.D episode, well-meaning strangers often try to help in ways that can actually make things worse (like physical touch or crowding). By carrying this card, you empower others to support you correctly. These cards are provided free of charge to all veterans suffering from P.T.S.D, reinforcing the Tommy’s Lounge mission: ensuring no veteran has to navigate their mental health journey alone.
